Why I recommend Alison Jones to be your Personal Trainer.... In May 2009, before I knew Alison, I ran my first competitive half marathon and ended up with a stress fracture……very frustrating. I met Alison, through a mutual friend, in June and was impressed with her enthusiasm, positive attitude and energy and when I discovered that she was a keen runner and personal trainer I jumped at the chance to work with her. Alison was superb! Not only is she technically excellent, but she is a great listener, has boundless energy and enthusiasm and is very goal focussed. She used a wide variety of techniques to ensure my own commitment and enthusiasm were maintained – encouraging texts, cheerful emails and top tips were all part of the service. She ran with me, exercised with me and listened patiently to all my woes. She helped me try new exercises and gave great advice on warming up, stretching, interval training and building core strength. Alison has a holistic approach; the advice on drinking more water, carbo loading and protein was also very sensible and very effective. And I did, of course, achieve all my goals – who wouldn't with Alison beside them?!

I was determined that 2009/10 would be the year I lost weight for a number of reasons; to have more energy, to look and feel better about myself and to be able to buy a dress for a wedding which I really liked. I knew that I couldn't cut out chocolate and other sweet things completly and Alison helped me with all my doubts. She was pleased with the pleasure I gained from seeing the pounds drop off and encouraged me on the occasions when a pound crept back on and focused me back onto the task at hand. I have known Alison for around 10 years and from the moment I met her I knew she was someone who would influence my life in a positive way and so she was the person I turned to when I finally decided to do something about the fact that I was less than happy with how my gradual weight gain was making me feel. My weight was always on my mind - "I wish I could lose that stone before my holiday or before my friends wedding" but I just couldn't seem to find the motivation to keep it going all the way. Alison has been fantastic, she has challenged me on why I have failed to achieve this goal and has asked the tough questions that I needed to be asked; as a result I really feel that I have confronted and dealt with my daemons. The sessions with Alison have really pushed me physically and mentally but she has given me all the support I needed to keep me on the right path. The feeling of achievement I have from reaching my goals with Alison is incredible. Driving home from a PT session with Alison knowing I've pushed myself to the max and I'm another step further to achieving my goal - there's no feeling like it!

I am a person who doesn’t enjoy exercise at all, however wants the benefits delivered by it. Alison has made the sessions really fun and interesting + manages to fit them into my busy lifestyle . I was a size 10 to start with and just wanted to tone up in the right places - within 10 wks I have seen amazing results losing an inch from each of waist, hips & thighs .
